宁波大四在读的95后少年吴德堪,清瘦、高个、小麦肤色、初次见面略带羞涩,但即使坐着聊天浑身还时不时律动着街舞的节拍。即使再看多少眼也看不出来,吴德堪是一个种子轮估值1000万的游戏项目通魔作坊CEO。
作为通魔作坊科技有限公司创始人,吴德堪说,魔兽争霸这个游戏几乎改变了他的一生。以前他的人生就是自己打游戏、看别人打游戏,初中遇到魔兽争霸3地图编辑器后,就变成打游戏+制作游戏。在游戏行业融资处于冰点的时候,意外顺利地获得种子轮融资,也为他带来了重要的转机。
95团队获得联合孵化
从2008年制作第一张地图英雄争霸1.0(总下载量达到15万),到2014年做到英雄争霸4.0,2015年创业,95后CEO带领了一支95后团队,利用一学期课余时间制作完成开发SC2DOTA。
今年8月,超级孵化器盛世方舟在宁波发起了英雄招募令,通魔作坊作为宁波本土游戏创业团队中的一个优秀项目被筛选出来参加了8月22日盛宴·NBJOY游戏专场投融资会的路演。路演时的沉稳、回答投资人的幽默与朝气,让在场的游戏投资大佬们青睐有加,龙翌资本当天就抛出了橄榄枝,种子期估值约1000万元。中国首家专注游戏产业的锋人院孵化器也决定与盛世方舟联合孵化通魔作坊。
对于为什么会选择盛世方舟超级孵化器,吴德堪说:“首先,我通过盛世方舟这个平台开始接触资本,并有了融资意识。其次,盛世方舟为通魔作坊提供各方面服务包括融资、媒体、市场营销、法律、人力资源、财务等支持。最重要的是,盛世方舟把我带到北京,接触到了许多普通创业者难以接触到的游戏界大咖和投资人,使得我对游戏行业和产品有了更深入的理解,认识到自己的经验短板、团队短板和产品风险,有助于清晰规划公司的未来和产品方向发展。”

游戏大咖做导师护驾
路演后第三天,吴德堪就来到北京,每天奔波去见投资人和游戏界翘楚,为了节约成本,吴德堪借住在了北京朋友在五环外的一个出租屋内。“一个人这么小的年龄只身从宁波奔袭到北京,只有创业者才有这种执着与坚持。经过努力团队拿到投资人的融资跟自己拿钱出来创业是完全无法比拟的,对团队来说是极大的鼓舞。“吴德堪感叹道。
对于融资以后的规划,吴德堪表示,团队7个人未来都是核心骨干,他会继续培养和扩充团队,在技术上投入更多,改善产品。此外,吴德堪准备继续在摩点网上做产品众筹。
摩点网项目负责人郝克威认为,目前游戏投资遇冷是因为游戏这个圈子被玩坏了,做端游的资源都被控制在四大发行商手里,小的团队根本无法存活。他们愿意支持年轻的、有情怀的游戏创业者,这些创业者愿意为他们喜欢的东西付出,游戏的未来将落在这一代人身上。
由于看好吴德堪的发展前途,引力创投创始合伙人戴周颖把吴德堪引荐给了forgame副总裁刘畅。“对于游戏如何运营,刘畅总提供了宝贵的建议和辅导,这帮助我们减少了未来的运营风险。”吴德堪说。
此外,巨人网络商务总监冯超也给出了一些运营及未来发展规划的建议:一方面,端游需要很庞大的团队来支撑,通魔作坊可以考虑发展壮大开发一款真正意义上的产品。另一方面,这个团队或者可以转做平台,继续发挥它的技术优势和兴趣爱好,实现快速盈利。
街舞冠军VS游戏首席设计师
事实上,初中高中以来,吴德堪一直遭到来自老师同学和父母的各种质疑。
“同学们都在网吧通宵玩游戏,我在通宵制作游戏,他们觉得我做的事情‘不合群’,在他们眼里觉得游戏开发能有什么用。我去网吧通宵也被老师抓了很多回。高中时父母说天天玩电脑不学习,我说我在做很有意义的事,在做游戏,他们会反问不好好学习,做这个有出息么,将来能赚钱么?”吴德堪说,此前有想过放弃高考,直接去游戏公司上班,但后来发现大学非常重要,因此才不会选择辍学创业。
与很多持大学无用论的人不同,吴德堪称,“大学改变了一生,首先,接触到了街舞,我是学校街舞社团最坚持的一个,这个需要每天去练习,考验人的耐心,热爱才会坚持,这跟热爱游戏是一样的。其次,在大学学习到了游戏知识,天天泡在图书馆看游戏相关的书,获取了很多资源,也知道高中时的知识远远不够。大学让我进化成更好的游戏制作者,后悔没有考一个更好的大学,可以接触到更好的资源获得更多的知识。那些觉得大学没用的学生,只是他们没有好好利用学校和周围同学的资源。我希望以后有机会能考上浙江大学的研究生,继续提升自己。”
谈及梦想,吴德堪眼里闪烁着小亮光,“我有两个梦想,一个是成为街舞冠军,以后可以做一款街舞游戏;另一个就是成为游戏界最有影响力的游戏首席设计师,像偶像乔布斯一样成为改变世界的人。”
95后PK 90后余佳文
在问到“觉不觉得自己狂妄”时,吴德堪一脸呆萌状反问“狂妄是什么?”
对于此前陷入口水战的余佳文,吴德堪认为,“余佳文是典型的90后,身上有鲜明的90后个性和优点。他个性张扬,但却没有继承80后的沉稳、深思熟虑等优点。其实我觉得两代人的优点不是互斥的。90后可以很跳、很个性,这是优点。但余佳文存在的问题是90后普遍存在的问题,缺少正确的自我认知。我会经常反省自己是个什么样的人。”
与所有90后一样,吴德堪身上不乏叛逆的因子,但这并不妨碍他的自生长。“我即使在同年级的人中也算低龄的,上学太早了,小学还留过级,叛逆但比较上进。当所有人往这边走的时候,我会思考往另一边走会不会更好。”
虽然已经融到种子轮了,但吴德堪至今没有告诉家人。“我父母到现在还不知道我在创业。创业过程很艰辛,我希望有一个成功的结果再告诉他们。也许我拿到融资已经算一个成功,但我希望把事情做得更好,更成功再告诉他们,这个时间也不会拖得很久,这个惊喜远远大于在过程中告诉他们。”
