钱虎，80后，清华大学法学本科，美国法学硕士，考取了纽约州律师执照，在曼哈顿做过实习律师。此外，他还搞过IT创业，做过黄金期货分析师，而他最大的梦想其实是学历史、做考古，当一个恣意洒脱又快意江湖的“摸金校尉”。虽然不能真去做盗墓贼，但他也找到了真正喜欢又切实可行的工作。现在的他是一家留学机构的CEO，专注中国留学高端服务行业。
下午3点，钱虎草草地吃完了今天的第一餐，一个草莓土司，一杯柳橙汁，简单快捷，最重要的是填饱了已饿得咕咕直叫的肚子。虽说创业已三年，公司也走上了正轨，有七十多个员工，但他还是会忙到没时间吃饭，经常加班到晚上九、十点。他笑称：“我很多事都喜欢亲自做，这是我个人最大的风格。”
人不轻狂枉少年
别看钱虎现在兢兢业业地做实体创业，但他也曾年少轻狂。08年，清华毕业后，他去了纽约大学继续研习法律。他说，出国不是为了好找工作与找好工作，而是为了开阔眼界，提升阅历，锻炼自己独当一面的能力。一年多的纽约生活，确实让他收获很多，拿到了硕士学位，考取了纽约州律师牌照，获得了曼哈顿的实习经历，甚至有机会留在曼哈顿，做一个待遇优厚、生活安稳且光鲜亮丽的纽约律师。
但钱虎透露，虽说学了5年的法律，但他并不喜欢做律师。一个思维发散、行为活跃的人如何去做缜密严谨、循规蹈矩的事儿，这本身就很不搭调。最终他放弃了美国律所提供的机会，只带着一个简单的想法，就满怀热情地选择回国创业。
这是他在美国一家上市公司得来的idea：想做一个竞拍类的网站，参与者可以低价竞拍自己想要的东西，竞拍过程中还会设计一些游戏关卡，让过程变得有趣刺激。但是由于初出茅庐只空有一腔热血，对纯技术环节与中国市场都不太了解，他在坚持了大半年之后创业便夭折了。
“鸭梨山大”的分析师经历
钱虎说，那时总归是年轻气盛，不服输，想要趁年轻折腾一下，证明自己，也想一步到位地踏上云端，然后过无忧无虑的生活。第一次创业失败之后，他选择了一个更惊险刺激，也确实能赚大钱、赚快钱的职业：外资证券公司的外盘黄金期货分析师。因兴趣所在，大一开始他便跟一名清华经管的教授学了很多经济学方面的课程，平时没事儿也爱自己钻研，做些期货买卖方面的实践。然而真正做上期货分析师，他才深刻地感受到行业的压力。
他说，做期货分析师并没有想的那么简单。每天要盯着电脑看各国行情，分析来，分析去，虽然人在国内，却要跟着国外的时间走，有时是伦敦时间，有时是纽约时间；每天翻看各大网站，看国际新闻、财经报道，也不能忽略社会新闻，有时连中国大妈的动态都可能成为影响黄金市场走向的因素。期货市场每天都有大波动，这对分析师的心理承受能力是极大的考验，即便行业内有严格的止损机制，但是很多人都难以抗拒巨大的诱惑与恐惧，也总是会对未来充满幻想。
钱虎说，做分析师那段时间，头发掉的特别厉害，睡觉也很不规律，时时刻刻都在担心自己的账户被爆仓，还要担心着客户的头寸是赚是赔。半年多的分析师生涯让钱虎开始重新考虑自己的人生规划，他开始意识到世上没有什么事能一步登天，都是一步一个脚印踩出来的。
从虚拟数据走向实体创业
2011年，某天夜里11点半，当很多人都已进入梦乡，钱虎和以往每晚一样，还在紧张地盯着电脑上的各种K线图，查看随时更新的报道。这时身旁的手机突然响起，他很不耐烦地接起电话，彼端传来的声音，陌生又熟悉。
那时，正是他做期货压力最大，头发掉的最凶的时候，他正考虑换别的工作，正巧他接到了清华师兄的邀请，也对这个项目很感兴趣，一拍即合，便加入了藤门留学，成为了合伙人和CEO。在三个合伙人中，钱虎担任的角色，更像是一个“厨师”：将已有的配方和原料经过巧手烹制，做成一道美味的佳肴。事实证明，他也确实将资源与想法成功地本地化，真正在中国落地生根。
IT创业经历让他学会了如何搭建网站，敲简单的代码；如何运用网络做推销、运营。期货市场的历练，让他更果敢成熟，更脚踏实地地做事。从公司一开始只有2个人，发展到今天70多人的规模；从前期人员招募、网站搭建、市场营销到后来的一步步发展壮大，都是他在亲手打造。
这家留学机构主要通过引入美国顶尖大学的40多名前招生办官员，为中国学子提供留学咨询和文书辅导服务。近年，钱虎还开拓了实习推荐业务，帮助学生获得进全球500强企业实习与推荐的机会。他说，公司发展到今天，还算是一帆风顺，三个合伙人都是清华的风格，喜欢少说多做、兢兢业业，志同道合。
如今，另外两个合伙人主要是在公司大的发展方向上把关，公司具体运营都是他一个人在负责。未来，他将持续“小而美”的定位，不盲目扩张，稳当地发展，站稳中国留学的高端市场。
别看他如今做事稳当了不少，多做少言，但有时却会变身“话唠”，滔滔不绝地讲起各种历史典故，这主要源于他对历史的热爱。从小他就非常喜欢看书，尤其是各种各样的历史书，从古本正史到野史杂谈，乃至当今流行盗墓类小说，他都会读上一读，看上一看，逮到机会就给人科普上一段，不管有人听没人听，他总自娱自乐地享受在其中。无论成长多少，总有那么一点少年心性一览无余。
钱虎笑着说：25岁前是年少轻狂，只凭一股子冲劲做事，而25岁之后，真正做起实体创业又是不一样的感受。IT是虚拟的数据与程序，证券其实也是虚拟的数字，25岁后做教育服务，是人与人之间的直接沟通与交流，是一种不一样的体验与感受，能让一个人快速地成长与成熟。
