夏日的黄昏里，我与一个老中医坐在清风徐徐的河边闲聊。突然，老人家盯着我的脸端详了好一会儿没有出声。我被他看得心里有些发虚，问道：“老人家，你这么关注我的脸，是不是看出了点什么啊？”
老人家笑了笑，说：“我从小学医的时候，老师就一再告诉我，‘人心险平，看眼；寿命长短，看脸’。从医一辈子，养成习惯了，呵呵，与人在一起，就总想往脸上多瞅几眼。”
我说：“老人家，都知道眼睛是心灵的窗口，这第一句话我能理解，可要说‘寿命长短，看脸’，我就有些不解了。人的寿命，怎么会写在脸上呢？”
老人家说：“脸小乾坤大啊。看脸，其实，我就只看脸上两处，一个是眉间，一个是嘴边。若一个人总是愁肠内结，心境忧郁，思虑过度，多疑寡断，看不到生活的希望和人生的美好，那么，眉间必然形成深深的‘八’纹。‘八’纹，乃挤压扭曲所致，属阴。阴气过于浓重，则心境难爽，便会郁积于腑脏；久阴则毒生，腑脏不堪其腐蚀，必然发而为病；有病在身，必然将进一步恶化心绪。人若一旦陷于心与病相互摧残的恶性循环之中，健康不存，哪里还会有长寿之理？眉间‘八’纹，实为割寿之刀啊。所以，我的老师就曾不止一次地对我说过，‘眉头常皱，必然折寿’！小兄弟，你可要当心哟。”
老人家的话，让我心头暗惊，平时不太注意的眉间‘八’纹，竟然蕴含着如此大的学问。我禁不住好奇心的驱使，又接着问道：“那嘴边能看出什么呢？”
老人家说：“一个人如果常常忍俊不禁，心中的喜悦漫溢，必然口角上挑，便会在嘴边形成一个小‘括号’；一个人若是爽朗畅快，常常大笑不止，牙齿常晒太阳，那么，这个‘括号’更是弧度飞扬，犹如相对而出的两轮半月，镶在脸颊之上，奕奕的神采，灿然生光。从它形成的原因上我们便可以看到，括号者，实乃舒心畅意、气贯神通之映照，当然属阳；因为‘括号’是在嘴的两边，又象征着阴阳的平衡，因此，它括住的是身体的健康、精神的疏朗、生命的活力、悠然而乐的心境和对人生绵延不绝的希望。处于这样的生活和精神状态的人，你说他能不健康长寿吗？”
真是听君一席话，胜读十年书，心里好不畅快啊。原来我们的脸上，还真的透露着我们的心态优劣、人生沧桑和生命状态等重要信息啊。因此，我们平时还是常常照镜子，看看脸上正在增加或不断加深的：是眉间“八”纹，还是嘴边“括号”吧！
