生命是时间长河里转瞬即逝的刹那，人类千方百计想方设法地追求天长地久永生不老，却没有想到，事实上只要把自己的脚步放慢，心态放平，活在当下，那么人生自然会变得绵长悠远。
以前没给杂志写稿时，我不知道原来在这一行里，时间是提前来过的。一月已经预备三月甚至四月的稿。在约稿论坛上一边看一边心惊肉跳，自己的一年尚未结束，也没有做出一点成绩，那边人家的工作已经过了一年，直逼年底。岁月在这里，竟是以迫不及待望尘莫及的速度飞逝，怎不叫人心生恐慌？
时间的长度本是人类自己定义出来的。一年三百六十五天，分四季，十二个月。可在这里，人们总是你追我赶的比赛似的，看谁能把一年过成一日。先人有知，如果把十年定成一年，我们还会这样心急吗？
日子不用过，只能用来追。自我无意走进这扇门，就掉进了这样湍急的漩涡。日历和钟表上的数字永远只能代表过去，因为今天要做的，已经是将来的事。明明是春天，但手下已经在马不停蹄做着秋天的事了。
没有什么值得欣喜的，无端的青春硬是比别人短了一大截似的。走在前面有什么用，时间都落在后面了，徒然催老了心灵和容颜而已。
现代人的快节奏，无非是调快了生命的时钟，自己给自己压力和逼迫的一种方式，只为了更充分地榨出生命的汁液获得价值名利。但我看到的却是更快更不留余地的消耗与飞逝。试问，一吨金子可换得回哪怕一秒的光阴？
美国人总是跑在世界的前面，连花钱都是今天花明天的，结果呢？金融危机终于打碎了这种提前消费的神话，惩罚所有悖离自然规律的活动。
北京人的话，悠着点儿。人活一世，草木一春，是多么短暂而又美好的时光。如果能漫步，为什么要急跑，错过一路的风景？须知前面不是另一个春天，而是一直等你接近的生命的终点。
明天的事今天做，明年的事今年完成。如此超前卓越的成绩和努力，不过是一种提前预支生命的结果。
何谓一入江湖岁月催，少年子弟江湖老？这是生命的无奈而非享受。
