快乐是一种能力，在任何时候都保持一种快乐的心情需要智慧。西方一位哲学家说过，人有避苦趋乐的本性。现实生活中，人人都追求快乐，但结果大相径异。为什么？因为快乐是一种能力。
快乐是一种能力人活得快乐与否，全凭他主观意念所断定，它不取决于外在客观条件，而是取决于内在心理变化的历程。所谓人生景不同，就是这个道理。快乐的人之所以永远快乐，并不是因为他的生活特别平顺，而是因为他能以坦然愉快的心情去看待人生的一切，快乐的人对于人生采取了一种看风景的的姿态，自在从容；悲哀的人对于人生采取了一种长跑比赛的姿势，执著劳碌。
将人世的一切视作风景，便有忘我的神韵，一切只是花开花落，早晨黄昏，风吹柳絮，雁过天际，顺其自然而已。以无为之心，做有为之事；其实快乐和际遇无关，“一箪食，一瓢饮，居陋巷，人不堪其忧，回也不改其乐”，颜回令人钦佩的是他对生活的态度，面对艰苦的环境，不哀叹，不抱怨，依然自得其乐。一个人如果心灵强大，面对人生坎坷再落魄也会坦荡愉快，而如果没有这种力量，锦衣玉食万事如意也许会郁郁寡欢，单纯靠物质的极大满足是不可能解决所有的心灵问题的。
人生只要掌握五个“秘诀”，便会快乐多了：多点付出，少些要求，释放憎恨，避免忧虑，活得简单。积极的快乐需要培养。以五条“秘诀”而论，要做到多些付出，就必须有体力、智力和拼搏的能力；少提要求，必须学会理解；释放憎恨，必须学会宽容；避免忧虑，必须有自制力；简单生活，必须有“放下”的能力。当得到的东西和愿望相左时，要理解他人并从自身找原因。海纳百川，有容乃大，有能力宽容别人的人是心胸开阔的人、快乐的人；而忧虑是放纵的结果，是嗜欲的寄生虫，没有自制力的人，自由离他最远。
没有自律便没有自由，没有自由便没有快乐。品味着生命百态，感觉若想真正地快乐，的确不易。因为真正的快乐，需要一颗最单纯、最澄澈的心。这就是为什么孩子很容易快乐。经历着人生的风霜雨雪，要想保持快乐，不但需要心境清明，更需要智慧。日渐成熟的心态，健康的人格尤其重要。能够保持快乐，不论得到抑或失去，不论事业有成抑或平平凡凡，不论一帆风顺抑或坎坷受挫，是真正的聪明。保持快乐，是一种能力。
快乐的秘诀就是找到内心的安宁。当你在锱铢必较得失的时候，快乐就从你掐算的指间溜走；当你不顾一切地攀爬高峰的时候，快乐就在你毫不流连的沿途中遗失了。心中无我、完善大我、直面小我，留一方净土，存些许纯真，这才是快乐的源泉和动力，虽达不到仁者那样无忧，智者一般无虑，却也获得了快乐的能力。
人生在世不如意事常八九，这是一种客观规律，不可以人的意志为转移。倘若把不如意的事情看成是自己构想的一篇小说，或是一场戏剧，自己就是那部作品中的一个主角，心情就会变好许多。一味地沉入不如意的忧愁中，只能使不如意变得更不如意。“去留无意，闲看庭前花开花落；宠辱不惊，漫随天际云卷云舒。”既然悲观于事无补，那我们何不用乐观的态度来对待人生，守住乐观的心境呢？
