1988年，陈妍出生在安徽省合肥市。大专刚毕业时，她在家乡接手了一间花店。因为花店行业竞争激烈，她一直惨淡经营着。
2009年的一天，她去参加朋友的婚礼，新娘出场时从空中撒下了五颜六色的塑料花瓣。“为什么不用鲜花花瓣，那样岂不是更显得浪漫?”陈妍很纳闷。婚礼结束后，她追问新娘，对方说：“塑料制品的造价比鲜花低廉，鲜花那么贵，整场婚礼撒下来得多少钱?”
有没有买到便宜花瓣的渠道呢?陈妍琢磨着。
第二天，一家刚开业的饭店把为庆典而租借的8个大花篮拉回了陈妍的小店。她想：自己的花店经常对外出租花篮，每次收回后，她和所有的同行一样，都把这些鲜花扔进了垃圾箱。如果能把残花的花瓣收集起来，转手卖给婚庆公司，在婚礼上下起真正的“花瓣雨”，岂不是变废为宝?
陈妍说干就干。她将所有使用过的鲜花收集起来，把那些完整、色泽鲜艳的花瓣一片一片撕下，再按不同颜色分门别类地装进塑料袋：粉红色的月季、紫色的风信子、火红的玫瑰……看着一袋袋散发着清香的花瓣，陈妍仿佛看到了美好的未来。
婚礼“花瓣雨”飘来芬芳财富
陈妍带着花瓣，到婚庆公司推销。每公斤不超过200元的价格果然吸引了婚庆公司的眼光，他们很愿意以每公斤180元的价格长期向她收购—— 一场婚礼有1公斤花瓣就够了，而且新人也不会吝啬这点钱。
仅靠自己的花店，花瓣产量远远不够，陈妍以每年2000元的费用，与10多家花店签订了收购残花的协议。
囤积的花瓣一多，问题就出现了——新鲜花瓣最多只能保存两三天，而婚礼有时半个月才碰到一次，很多花瓣都白白地浪费了。为了给花瓣保鲜，陈妍频繁地给它们洒水。婚庆公司很快收到客户的反馈意见：“鲜花瓣的水分重，向上一撒，马上就落到地面了，很难在空中营造出五彩缤纷的意境。”
如果把鲜花加工成干花瓣，既可以长期保存，又能减轻花瓣的重量，问题就解决了。陈妍查阅了很多资料，最终借助制作葡萄干的室内自然风干法，成功地让鲜花瓣变成了干花瓣。由于3斤鲜花瓣风干后只能得到1斤干花瓣，她把价格提高到了每公斤580元。
这些散发着淡淡清香的干花瓣，很快就赢得了新人们的喜爱。有一位女白领说：“婚礼现场，当五彩花瓣在空中划着优美的弧线飘落时，我感觉自己就是童话中的公主……”
由于“花瓣生意”越来越好，2010年初，陈妍索性不再做鲜花生意，把店名也改成了“花瓣专卖店”。
做中国最大的“花瓣生意”
因为好多年轻人喜欢用干花瓣来装饰房间，陈妍又有了新灵感：何不将干花瓣做成小工艺品，拿到精品店和超市去销售呢?
经过市场调查，她发现干花瓣作为工艺品出售，在安徽乃至全国的市场上还属空白。很快，她就订购了大小不一的漂亮工艺瓶，然后以“星座幸运花”为销售主题，分门别类进行组合，比如金牛座的幸运花是玫瑰、紫罗兰、水仙，她就将这3种干花瓣装到一个小瓶里;处女座的幸运花是波斯菊和风信子，她就把这两种花瓣置入瓶内，销售给对应星座的人。
一只只小瓶变成了能带来幸运和祝福的“吉祥物”，自然备受青睐，一时间购买“星座花瓣瓶”竟成了一种时尚。产品打入超市和精品店后，销售势头也极为火爆。2010年6月，陈妍干脆成立了一个小型加工厂，让工人们大批量制作“花瓣瓶”。
考虑到白领一族工作压力大，陈妍配制的“白领花瓣瓶”里装着薰衣草和百合花瓣，常闻这种花香，有放松身心、抚慰心灵、镇静安神的作用。这种既浪漫又贴心的设计，十分讨喜。接着，她又借势推出了“情侣花瓣瓶”“血型花瓣瓶”等。
有个外地顾客在合肥买了一件干花工艺品，喜爱得不行，身边好多朋友也都喜欢，于是她便打电话给陈妍，问能不能给她快递几个“花瓣瓶”。看到省外的市场这么广阔，陈妍就在网上开展了“婚礼鲜花瓣”和“时尚花瓣瓶”的批发业务。
2011年8月，陈妍注册成立了自己的公司，一边加工和销售经典产品，一边研发新产品。3个多月后，陈妍公司生产的袋装花瓣浴、花瓣茶、花瓣面膜等产品成功打入市场。如今，这些打着“泡出健康”“喝出体香”“敷出美颜”宣传口号的新产品，已成为白领女性的最爱。
到2013年2月，25岁的陈妍已经拥有了上百万元财富。谈到创业的成功，她说：“你有多少智慧，这些不起眼的小花瓣就有多少种卖法;你付出多少努力，这些花瓣中就蕴藏着多少财富。”
