2015年，中国手游从井喷发展期进入洗牌期。历史总是具有重复性，手游的发展历程，总能找到似曾相识的感觉——任何一个风口，都曾涌进大量资本和团队，博客、团购，再到如今的O2O，经历过狂热期后，泡沫越来越大，却最终被市场整肃和戳破。
成都卡尔维科技有限公司（以下简称卡尔维），是当时成都手游圈杀出的最大黑马，一夜成名。转眼一年，A轮融资的一百万美金，游戏的千万代理费，悉数成空，最后宣布破产，甚至员工工资，都发不出来。
一个创造业内神话的公司，如何走向了宿命的溃败？
名利双收
2013年到2014年上半年，成都手游出现井喷。官方数据显示，2014年中旬成都的手游公司已经有600多家，鼎盛时期，加上一些不正规的小团队，数量实际超过了1000家。
当时手游被称为金矿行业，这里诞生太多一夜暴富的神话。当时最大的黑马，恐怕就是卡尔维。其前身是盛大旗下一个开发端游的子公司，后来被砍掉。在CEO杨存富的带领下，一群志同道合的年轻人出来后，开始了一段卧薪尝胆的经历。
他们租了一间三居室的民宅，拿着每月2000元的工资，一干就是一年，闷头打造一款叫《战神之怒》的游戏。卡尔维的市场负责人王毓立记得，大家就这么决定背水一战，“失败了，大不了再去找工作”。
2011年，《战神之怒》上线。王毓立想，月流水能过10万，能养活大家就行了。可是他们没想到，《战神之怒》一路高歌猛进，全球下载量超过千万次，在国外受到玩家热捧，曾经入选英国某科技媒体评选的“全球最好玩50个游戏”之一，月流水达到百万元级别。这个10多人的团队苦尽甘来，CEO杨存富马上宣布，所有的人工资翻倍。
“我们没有做任何推广，全靠口碑相传。”王毓立说。当时智能手机尚未大面积普及，市面上也没有一款真正的3D格斗ARPG游戏，一个游戏包500M的游戏无疑是超前的。
随后，清科创投找到了卡尔维，投资100万美元。正在开发中的《战神之怒3》，更以千万元天价代理给金山网络。卡尔维，可谓是名利双收。
此时，杨存富面临两个选择。第一个是全力投入《战神之怒》，出一系列的续作；第二个就是多战线策略，多开发几款游戏，增加成功几率。
游戏行业颇像电影行业。一些名不经传的小团队也可以拍出低成本的佳作而一举成名，但很难保证下一步还能踩对点，还能持续出佳品。
你可以一夜暴富，也可能像烟花一样转瞬即逝。这种恐惧，根植在游戏人的宿命中。他们在最璀璨的时候，就在考虑下一次如何绽放。
这种恐惧导致了“广撒网”的心态。杨存富选择了后者，一两年时间，卡尔维从10人扩张到200人。一家小公司瞬间成了业内的宠儿，发展急速，如日中天。
最大黑马到最大败局
2014年8月之后，成都手游从巅峰陡转直下，开始进入洗牌期。一边是一些手游企业以各种方式退场，资金链断裂，破产倒闭，甚至人间蒸发；而另一边，手游的入云高楼还在崛起，并不断创出造富神话。
在这一轮洗牌中，卡尔维从最大的黑马，沦为了当时的最大败者。
《战神之怒》成功之后，卡尔维从居民楼搬到1000多平米的办公室，两层楼，政府补贴了两年租金。公司变得“高大上”了，但开发《战神之怒》的核心成员却陆续流失，据说是“被逼走的”。当年挤在民宅中吃盒饭的战友们，天各一方。
为充实研发力量，杨存富全盘收购了一些游戏团队，作为项目组并入公司，但是开发的游戏不尽人意。“代理商都质问说，你们卡尔维怎么开发出这么烂的游戏？”表现不佳的团队被遣散，接着又收购新的团队。这种恶性循环，一直持续到卡尔维破产。王毓立眼看着这些团队将《战神之怒》的盈利和名声消耗殆尽。
2014年开始，卡尔维陆续裁员，最后只剩下50来人，还有一次，工资拖了一个月才发下来。今年初，杨存富召集了全体员工，说公司没钱了，撑不下去了，资方也不再投钱了，公司要解散了。当时公司账上还剩下10多万元，还不够大家一个月工资，草草分了钱后，杨存富就消失了。
宿命的轮回
王毓立没有走，《战神之怒》残留的核心成员又聚在了一起。王毓立说：“要不要再赌一次？”他们决定接着开发卡尔维一款未完成的游戏：《梦幻生肖》。
9月的午后，i黑马试图去寻找卡尔维曾经的辉煌，看到的却是简陋的毛坯房和简单的桌椅电脑——他们又租了一个两居室的民宅，决定将游戏换名改装后重新上线。
恍如一个轮回，如同4年前他们蜗居在民宅中开发《战神之怒》，一样的人，一样的工资，一样的居民楼。这是一种巧合，也是一场宿命。人生赌一次，成功了；再赌一次，胜算几何？
i黑马问王毓立，如果真的成功了，会怎样？他腼腆一笑：“其实我还有一个想法，只是比较幼稚，《战神之怒3》签下了千万的代理金，破产之后这些钱都打水漂了，如果能成功，我想把游戏免费代理给他们。”
卡尔维的败局，是手游发展史上最为典型的标本。其兴也勃，其亡也忽。
仿佛一场淘金游戏，淘金者们涌入金矿，一顿胡挖乱掘，却发现此地并不是遍布黄金。他们心灰意冷地撤离，出资者不再轻易投钱，他们退而观望，挖掘者多也精疲力竭，转而投向新的金矿。仅仅半年，手游行业的泡沫开始破裂，当年的疯狂与如今的冷峻，不可同日而语。
