6月14日，吴江市民的朋友圈分别被题为“网报吴江男子桥上上吊自杀！有点恐怖”的信息刷屏了。吴江警方快速出动，查证这条信息为虚假信息。由于发布该虚假信息的公众号已经严重扰乱了社会秩序、浪费大量警力，16日下午，吴江警方抓获该微信平台负责人周某，因涉嫌以虚构事实扰乱公共秩序，周某被处以行政拘留7日的处罚。据了解，这也是省内首起利用微信公众号虚构事实扰乱公共秩序案。

谣言传的啥 吴江也有男子桥上上吊自杀？
当地警方忙活一通，证实为假消息
2015年6月14日下午2点12分，微信公众号“汾湖社区”更新了新闻内容，其中头条是一篇“网报吴江男子桥上上吊自杀！有点恐怖”的消息，来源为“网友爆料”。该消息还配了一张一个男子在桥上吊死的图片。
经警方调查证实，这条消息为虚假内容。由于该消息阅读量超过1.9万人次，在社会上造成了很坏的影响，吴江警方决定采取行动。6月16日下午，汾湖派出所接到群众匿名举报，赶到汾湖镇某小区车库，发现两名女子正在利用笔记本在网络上发布消息。在民警的追问下，两名女子承认，受老板周某的指使，确实曾发布过相关消息。
根据线索，民警在汾湖的一家咖啡馆将“汾湖社区”微信平台负责人周某抓获。
谣言如何产生？
发布消息前不核实，核实后还不更正
1988年生的周某是吴江人，南京邮电大学本科毕业。2013年周某辞去上海工作，回家创业，创办了“汾湖社区”公众号，至今已有粉丝2万左右。
对于“网报吴江男子桥上上吊自杀！有点恐怖”这条消息，警方问周某有没有证实到该事件的真实性，周某承认：“没有证实。只想作为一个新闻爆料，让大家去讨论讨论。”
后来，帖子火了，周某才想起证实，“后来找到了，是常州发生的事”。但是，即使得知自己发了假消息，周某也未曾再发一条更正消息，导致人心惶惶。
记者翻阅了“汾湖社区”发现，除了“男子上吊”外，6月8日该微信公众号还发布了“北厍出现情杀案！事情众说纷纭！”的信息，同样引起吴江民众的关注，阅读量也超过了1.9万人次。
传播谣言为啥？
“吸粉”增加影响力，做广告牟利
记者注意到，该公众号还会发布一些充满暴力、黄色的信息。对此，汾湖派出所执法大队队长朱士恒说：“这些低俗的内容迎合了一些人的低级趣味，有助于微信公众号‘吸粉’。”
周某这么急切地发布这些所谓的“猛料”，到底是为什么呢？原来，在每条“猛料”信息后面，周某还会发布一些商家信息。例如，在“北厍出现情杀案！事情众说纷纭！”这条信息后面就有个商铺出租的信息，周某坦言：“这个商铺出租方会给我一定的报酬，说明我的公众平台有一定的影响力的。”
靠这种赚钱方式，周某与一些商家签订了40份左右的合同。周某从中可以赚取每单几百到几千元不等的利益。
自酿苦果
周某被拘！成省内“公众号造谣”首案
据吴江警方介绍，吴江每天有一半以上的警情是无效的，这些警情占用了大量的警力资源，消耗了大量的时间，可能造成真正需要帮助的群众报警时得不到及时帮助。而本案中的周某为了博眼球吸引关注，故意在微信的公众平台上散布“北厍出现情杀案”、“网报吴江男子桥上上吊自杀”等虚假信息，不但浪费了大量警力资源，还在社会上造成了恶劣影响，严重扰乱了公共秩序。
问询中，周某对违法事实供认不讳。目前，周某因涉嫌以虚构事实扰乱公共秩序被处以行政拘留7日的处罚。此外，吴江警方也正积极与腾讯联系，希望可以查封“汾湖社区”。据悉，这也是省内首起利用微信公众号虚构事实扰乱公共秩序案。
